2009 IPRC Needs Assessment and Planning Grant Winner and Runner Up

Congratulations to the 2009 IPRC Needs Assessment and Planning Grant Winner!

The Elkhart County Drug-Free Partnership is the winner of the Indiana Prevention Resource Center 2009 Needs Assessment and Planning Grant valued at $4000.

This grant will allow the Elkhart County Drug-Free Partnership to better understand the prevention needs of their community. Having a data driven understanding of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use within the county will help provide the comprehensive outline needed to allocate funding appropriately and plan effective programs. The Needs Assessment and Planning Grant includes a custom PREV - STAT report, school survey report, Afternoons R.O.C.K. in Indiana data, access to strategic prevention framework online resource, technical assistance and grant writing consulting, and free registration to IPRC trainings.

The Elkhart County Drug-Free Partnership co-coordinated by Jessica Koscher works to bring stakeholders together in a voluntary effort to reduce the prevalence of substance misuse and other unhealthy behaviors. This partnership is comprised of volunteers who facilitate programs that negate alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use in the areas of prevention, treatment, and criminal justice.

The Elkhart County Drug-Free Partnership promotes many activities in their community including the “Get up to Speed” community workshop pertaining to relevant alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use problems in the county. The partnership works each year with eight school corporations to help their students get involved in prevention activities at the grass roots level. Thank you Elkhart County Drug-Free Partnership for your strong commitment to your community and the prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.
